MINNEAPOLIS and TORONTO — Human capital management platform Dayforce, Inc. announced an agreement to acquire Ribbon AI Inc., an AI-native recruiting software firm specializing in early-stage talent sourcing, screening, and automated candidate engagement.
The deal targets high-volume recruitment bottlenecks by integrating Ribbon’s conversational voice and video AI technology directly into the Dayforce ecosystem. By introducing specialized agentic recruiting features, the platform aims to automate the resource-heavy initial screening phase, allowing organizations to run structured, round-the-clock interviews at scale.
According to Dayforce, the integration is intended to address the persistent friction between hiring speed and candidate experience.
“High-volume hiring shouldn’t mean choosing between speed and a strong candidate experience,” said David Ossip, Founder and CEO of Dayforce, Inc. “AI can take on more of the manual, time-sensitive work that slows hiring down, while recruiters focus on engaging talent and making the decisions that matter. Ribbon accelerates our vision for agentic recruiting, helping frontline organizations get the right people into critical roles faster and build a more responsive, resilient workforce.”
Ribbon, recognized by Fast Company as one of the Most Innovative Companies in Enterprise for its automated interviewing framework, brings significant operational scale to the transaction. The startup currently serves hundreds of customers and has logged more than one million completed interviews.
At the center of Ribbon’s product suite is a voice AI agent capable of holding two-way conversational interviews at any hour. The system generates job-relevant interview questions and tailored scoring rubrics directly from role descriptions and historical interview data. Following each session, the software analyzes transcript data to produce standardized assessments while deploying built-in audio, gaze, and response-latency verification checks to safeguard interview integrity. Roughly 90% of Ribbon’s clients rely on its out-of-the-box configuration for rapid rollouts.
In addition to automated evaluations, Ribbon offers talent rediscovery algorithms capable of indexing up to 30 million profiles within existing applicant tracking databases, paired with automated outreach via SMS, WhatsApp, and email. The company is also finalizing an autonomous scheduling agent, which will integrate alongside its sourcing and interviewing tools once the acquisition concludes.
