Adzuna launches quality-first AI job search agent ‘ApplyIQ’

Adzuna, the smarter job search engine, is proud to announce the launch of ApplyIQ, a groundbreaking AI job search agent that automatically applies to relevant jobs.

Adzuna is the first major job search engine to offer an automatic application tool. Using the Adzuna team’s decade of AI experience, the aim was to create an intelligent and responsible approach that sets a new benchmark for the industry.

ApplyIQ harnesses the power of large language models (LLMs) to intelligently match users with jobs that align with their skills, experience and career goals. Unlike existing job automation and ‘easy apply’ tools that focus on application volume over quality, ApplyIQ applies strict limits and controls to ensure only the most relevant applications reach recruiters.

According to Adzuna’s AI sentiment survey of over 1,200 jobseekers, 86% of UK jobseekers expressed a desire for more AI-powered job search tools. AI adoption is already well underway: about three in five UK jobseekers have already used AI tools for job search, with nearly 20% relying entirely on AI tools. Alarmingly, about three in five jobseekers don’t consider using AI as cheating at all. 

However, jobseekers are increasingly looking for smarter AI solutions – with nearly a quarter feeling hesitant to use AI job tools due to quality and accuracy concerns – and recruiters too. More and better hires for less effort

At the core of ApplyIQ is a commitment to quality control. ApplyIQ is engineered to maximise hiring efficiency for recruiters by ensuring applications are not only timely but also highly relevant. Key features of ApplyIQ include:

  • Strict matching and filtering: Testing shows that the ApplyIQ matching algorithm would reject 1 in 5 conventional applications. ApplyIQ users with high match scores are twice as likely to be shortlisted for interview compared to typical manual applications from other leading job sites.
  • Quality over quantity: ApplyIQ averages five applications per user a week. 
  • CV authenticity: CVs are not modified or ‘optimised’, so employers can trust the CVs they get from ApplyIQ 
  • CV screening: There are automated checks for minimum quality standards  
  • Limited applications: There is a hard limit of two job applications to the same employer within a 60-day period
  • Only active jobseekers: ApplyIQ users need to periodically reconfirm that they are active, otherwise their account is automatically paused
  • Geo-blocking: Prevents applications from users in ‘out-of-area’ countries

Adzuna has also implemented a candidate quality feedback loop with employers receiving applications from ApplyIQ. Findings will be published later this year.
