Dozens of signals and integrated identity verification help hiring teams spot potential fraud before investing time in interviews

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. and LAS VEGAS (HR Tech Conference Booth #6166), Oct. 20, 2026 — Findem, the people intelligence platform, announced Authenticity Suite Pro to help employers address candidate fraud before it consumes interview time or becomes a hiring mistake. The expanded suite combines analysis of more than 100 application and profile signals with AI-powered identity verification, helping recruiters investigate inconsistencies, confirm candidate identity and decide who advances.

Fabricated work histories, borrowed identities and proxy interviews are challenging the assumption that applicants are who they claim to be. In a second-quarter 2025 Gartner survey of 3,000 job candidates, 6% admitted to interview fraud, either impersonating someone else or having another person interview on their behalf. Gartner also predicts that one in four candidate profiles worldwide will be fake by 2028.

For hiring teams, the consequences are felt well before an offer. Recruiters spend time investigating discrepancies, hiring managers interview misrepresented candidates and legitimate applicants compete for attention in crowded pipelines. Manual checks across resumes, online profiles and other records make it difficult to resolve concerns consistently and early.

“Candidate fraud has become a business security risk, with consequences that can extend to an organization’s systems, data and intellectual property. Recruiters shouldn’t be expected to defend against it alone,” said Kyle Lagunas, founder of Kyle & Co., the research firm behind The State of Candidate Fraud Detection & Prevention. “Our research points to a critical gap between detecting potential fraud and knowing how to respond. Hiring teams need clear evidence, a way to verify concerns and a defined process for involving security. A flag should start an informed review, not trigger an automatic rejection.”

Clear signals for closer review

Authenticity Suite Pro draws on Findem’s 3D People Graph, which connects people and company information from thousands of data sources, to put potential fraud signals into context. It analyzes dozens of signals across resumes, profiles and online footprints, organizing findings into 13 categories with plain-language explanations to help recruiters understand what looks unusual and why.

For example, Findem can check whether companies listed on a resume appear in its company graph and flag employment details that conflict with information found in other sources. The suite also considers patterns such as repeated applications from a single location, unusual overlaps in employment and hidden text in application documents. These findings give recruiters specific questions to investigate with candidates, including potentially legitimate explanations. Signals identify questions to clarify, not proof of misconduct. No applicant is automatically advanced or rejected.

Identity verification before interviews

Recruiters can invite candidates to complete a short, consent-based, AI-proctored verification session through a secure link. The session includes liveness checks to help confirm a real person is present, with government-issued ID verification available subject to administrator permissions.

Teams can request verification individually or in bulk and choose to set up automatic verification for all future applicants. Optional interview preparation introduces the role and collects answers to recruiter-defined questions during the same session.

Verification records and human review

An Authenticity Report on the candidate’s profile records checks and outcomes, including unsuccessful or inconclusive results. Timestamped records and an audit trail document what was verified and when. Candidates receive an explanation and consent before participating. Recruiters retain responsibility for interpreting findings and deciding who advances.

“A convincing resume is getting easier to create. Confidence in the person behind it is getting harder to establish,” said Satish Kumar, CEO of Glider AI, a Findem company. “Recruiters need more than a warning flag. They need to understand what looks unusual, verify it and see the evidence behind the result. Authenticity Suite Pro brings those steps together while keeping hiring decisions in human hands.”

Confronting candidate fraud together

Findem also announced the formation of a Candidate Fraud Council to bring hiring leaders, CISOs and other industry experts together to confront growing candidate fraud. The council will provide a forum to discuss emerging threats, share practical approaches to detection and verification and explore how employers can strengthen hiring integrity while protecting candidate trust. Its focus will include distinguishing potential fraud from legitimate inconsistencies and preserving human judgment in the review process.
