This week, I talk with Usman “Oz” Khan, senior vice president at ADP Ventures. The unit operates as both an incubation lab and a venture investment arm to identify emerging workplace technologies and create new growth opportunities for ADP.

The goal is to balance a revenue-generating core with strategic experimentation. ADP evaluates opportunities through recurring ideation cycles aligned with business planning, assessing market signals, scalability and customer impact. Ultimately, Oz said, ADP Ventures aims to act as a “small crowbar moving a massive boulder,” helping a legacy enterprise innovate while maintaining reliability and trust.
