Boomband Expands to New England for Debut of New AI Talent Platform

WAKEFIELD, R.I. — New England’s regional job market is serving as the launchpad for a major attempt to overhaul online recruiting.

Boomband, a new AI-native talent intelligence platform founded by Monster.com creator Jeff Taylor, officially rolled out across all six New England states on Wednesday. Headquartered in Wakefield, Rhode Island, the startup is directly targeting the region’s dense concentration of tech, healthcare, finance, and higher-education employers, bringing nearly 500,000 local, hybrid, and remote roles to the platform at launch.

The regional rollout opens the service to an estimated 8 million workers and 300,000 employers across key metropolitan corridors, including:

  • Massachusetts: Boston, Cambridge, Worcester, and Springfield
  • Rhode Island: Providence and Warwick
  • Connecticut: Hartford, New Haven, and Bridgeport
  • Northern New England: Manchester and Nashua, N.H.; Portland, Maine; and Burlington, Vt.

Why New England First?

New England has long served as an incubator for recruiting technology—Monster.com itself trace its roots to Massachusetts in the 1990s—but the region’s employers and job seekers currently face intense hiring friction.

According to Boomband, the traditional online job board model has collapsed under a flood of low-signal, AI-generated applications. The average job posting drew 244 applications in 2025, more than double the volume from 2022, while the regional search cycle for candidates now stretches to an average of 6.6 months.

“In a roundabout way, I helped build the system that is now breaking hiring,” said Taylor, Boomband’s founder and CEO. “With Monster.com, we took the Help Wanted section from the newspaper to the internet… Now overlay AI on top of that broken foundation, and you have a full collapse. Everyone is drowning in volume and starving for signal.”

By debuting regionally, Boomband aims to give New England employers a localized network that bypasses the flood of irrelevant, nationwide resume-spamming while surfacing local candidates based on actual skill alignment and commute preferences.

A Localized Marketplace: The “Arena” and Candidate “Dossiers”

Rather than operating as a conventional job board, Boomband is introducing a regional discovery engine called the Arena, designed to connect New England workers and companies:

  • Regional Flexibility for Workers: Job seekers (referred to as “Players”) can browse roles across New England as guests, filtering opportunities by specific commute distances, on-site requirements, hybrid schedules, or industry hubs.
  • Persistent Digital Dossiers: Instead of uploading static PDFs to individual company portals, local candidates build a comprehensive “Dossier” featuring a dynamic “Skillprint” that captures career milestones, certifications, and side projects. Each dossier resides at a personal URL discoverable by search engines and AI models.
  • Direct Regional Sourcing for Recruiters: Area employers (termed “Scouts”) can search the New England talent pool via natural-language prompts or voice commands. A feature called Spectrum enables local organizations to map and re-engage their existing regional talent network—including alumni, current staff, and runner-up applicants from previous searches.

Stepping Stone to the Northeast Corridor

While Wakefield serves as the initial anchor and New England represents the platform’s proving ground, Boomband is treating the regional launch as the first phase of a broader Northeast expansion. The company confirmed that adjacent markets in New York and New Jersey are slated as the next territories for rollout.
