Here’s irony for you: New research says AI will boost the value of “uniquely human” soft skills as it changes both the nature of jobs and people’s approach to work. In particular, employers will put a premium on skills that involve empathy and ethical decision-making.

According to Elevating Human Potential: The AI Skills Revolution, a research report from Workday, the use of AI will increase the value of “human potential,” a far brighter perspective than the often-heard concern that advanced technology’s use will lead to cutting back or eliminating certain jobs.

In addition, workers and leaders pretty much agree that AI can help increase transparency and accountability. That’s the belief of 89% of employees and 92% of business leaders. It makes sense, then, that Workday sees skills such as ethical decision-making, empathy, relationship building and conflict resolution becoming critical for success.
