Why do we need to?

There are scenarios where payroll has already been executed, and subsequent activities such as posting to finance, bank transfers, or reporting have been carried out. Later, it may be discovered that certain employee-specific configurations were incorrect at the time of execution.

Although corrections may have been made in the configuration, the payroll engine may not reflect these updates. In some cases, it may even throw errors because the payroll results stored in the system do not align with the corrected configuration.

This creates a challenging situation:

We cannot simply delete the payroll results for an employee, as downstream processes (such as postings and payments) have already taken place.

At the same time, we cannot proceed with future payroll runs, as the inconsistency between payroll results and updated configuration prevents smooth processing.

In such cases, the ability to overwrite, modify, or update payroll results becomes essential. This approach provides a controlled way to align payroll results with corrected data, ensuring both system integrity and continuity of payroll operations.
