Fountain Launches AI Tools to Help Employers Hire from Existing Talent Pools

SAN FRANCISCO — Fountain, a technology company focused on frontline workforce management, announced Thursday the release of two new AI-integrated features, “Pool” and “Source,” designed to change how companies identify and hire hourly workers.

The new tools are part of the company’s Frontline OS platform and aim to address common inefficiencies in the high-volume hiring process, such as rising acquisition costs and underutilized applicant databases.

According to Fountain, many employers maintain large databases of past applicants and former employees but lack the tools to effectively search them. The “Pool” feature uses AI to analyze these existing talent records, scoring and matching candidates to current openings. It then uses automated agents to contact those individuals via SMS and email to gauge their interest in returning or applying for a new role.

“Most frontline teams already have the talent they need, they just can’t see it,” said Sean Behr, CEO of Fountain. “Companies overspend chasing net-new applicants while they already have qualified workers sitting idle in their systems.”

Complementing this is “Source,” a tool that centralizes various hiring channels—such as job boards and social media—into a single interface. It uses AI to track the performance of these channels in real time, identifying which platforms are producing qualified candidates and flagging job openings that are not receiving enough attention. This allows hiring managers to adjust their spending toward the most effective sources.

The platform utilizes Anthropic’s Claude AI to power its matching and communication functions. Salim Jernite, Chief Product Officer at Fountain, stated that the combination of talent rediscovery and sourcing optimization is intended to help teams reduce waste and increase the automation of the hiring process.

Fountain’s software is used primarily by businesses in the logistics, retail, hospitality, and healthcare sectors, where rapid, high-volume hiring is a standard operational requirement.
