Important Update for Argentine SAP Users: Vital Changes to Income Tax Law

On July 8, 2024, the Argentine Government announced updates regarding Law 27743 on income tax, regulated by General Resolution 5531, issued on July 25, 2024, by the Federal Administration of Public Income (Administración Federal de Ingresos Públicos – AFIP). 

What’s Changing? 

The updated law affects the way income tax is calculated for employees under a dependent relationship in Argentina and is retroactively effective from January 1, 2024. This means that taxes calculated under the previous regime must be recalculated for the period up until June 2024. 

How Is SAP Responding? 

To ensure a smooth transition and immediate compliance, SAP has designed a new procedure for handling deductions under Law 27743. We plan to deliver a solution that extracts data from the 0390 infotype and stores it in the RT table for each payroll run. This approach maintains the current method of reading gross amount deductions from the RT table. 

Temporary Workaround 

Until the automatic solution is rolled out, SAP offers a provisional workaround using the existing framework.
