At least 127,998 tech sector employees have been laid off since January 2026, according to new research from TradingPlatforms.

The research found that roughly 60% of those cuts are directly attributed to AI adoption, rather than economic headwinds alone. Of the total recorded layoffs, 76,979 have been linked to AI
