China’s AI layoff ruling puts HR on notice

According to Bloomberg, a Chinese court has ruled that organizations cannot lay off employees simply to replace them with artificial intelligence.

The reported case involved a senior tech worker in Hangzhou whose employer said AI was doing most of his job. He was let go after he declined a demotion
